Welcome back to the wonderful Bay of Brides series! This is Roberta’s and Angus’ story which we have been teased with in the first two books in the series.Roberta and Angus have been friends for awhile and it seems they both like each other but neither will admit to it. Roberta and Angus are in Las Vegas for a family holiday and find themselves waking up in bed together on their last morning right before they need to leave for the airport with a marriage certificate.Neither of them remember anything about getting married. Angus is very much against the idea of them being married since he has some deeply hidden secrets. And Roberta isn’t sure she is willing to acknowledge her attraction to Angus.Roberta decides that they need to “date†each and enjoy some benefits of being married while they puzzle their way through what happened in Las Vegas and they're growing attraction. Angus is at least agreeable to Roberta’s suggestions about they're “dating†while not wanting to reveal why he is against them being married and telling anyone.This is another well written novel by Ms. Woods’ set in the wonderful North Island of New Zealand. I have already read it twice while I am impatiently waiting for the next book in this entertaining series. It has made being sick for the last few weeks of school bearable and taken my mind off being tired all the time. I really want to go to New Zealand just based on the descriptions in the books written by Ms. Woods. And I somehow have a feeling that the Kiwi spirit shown by characters is a reflection of the character of the people of New Zealand.
Part of the Bride series this is book #3. A standalone read with a HEA. Sex as hot as you can stand it. Set in New Zealand you get to revisit all the characters from book 1 and 2. You won't be lost, they are all friends and each one has a great story. I LOVED it. OMG, this book had me at the first paragraph and there was no place to stop before I finished it. I LOVED it. Angus is one hot hero. He is a doctor with a body to die for. He is kind, gentle, loving and everything else you would put in the Positive column. I loved him. You can't help but think he is great.Roberta owns the café next door to the brides shop owned and operated by her mother and sisters. They are all a tight knit group. Roberta is single with 2 cats. She has her own home with a garden in back. She had a very bad breakup a few years ago from a man that she thought she was in love with. Turns out he had secrets that just about broke her heart. She returned home to her family and friends to mend her heart and get own with her life. She doesn't think she is interested in dating or even having another relationship with a man. She has always had a little thing for Angus but he doesn't seem interested. In fact, it seems as though he doesn't even like her. With their large group of friends it is hard to ignore him but they just seem to stay on the fringes of being civil..And then there is the trip to Vegas for the whole group to celebrate a wedding between two of the friends. And we all know what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. However, Roberta wakes up with the mother of all hangovers and doesn't even know where she is or how she got there. However, when she rolls over and discovers Angus on the other side of the bed everything changes.This story is so good. It has a few twists and turns that you won't see coming. The biggest event is the one that happens as they are all returning to New Zealand from Vegas. It will change their lives forever My own heart stopped. I had no idea how this was going to go but it didn't go where I thought it would. The story went from funny for the mess these two had made of a one night stand to deadly serious. Then the rest of the story was straightening out their secret marriage - thus the Bride in Secret and deciding where to go from here. it is so good. it is hard not to write more but to give the story away wouldn't be fair to other readers. Just knoiw, it is a great read and one you will throughly enjoy. I loved it. I definitely for sure recommend it. It is so different from the other 2 Bride books. All are good in their own story.I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I just finished Bride in Secret.....just as good as the other bride books. I think I have read all of your books and you never disappoint. You pull us into these characters and I feel like I know all of them. Another great job can't wait for book 4.
A good read for a rainy afternoon. An interesting story, with a tiny bit of heat, and a HEA. Looking forward to the next book of this series. The plane crash was a solid surprise, and the PTSDWas well represented.
Another great story in the series love will find you just keep your heart open. Things happen in life some people will hurt you but you will survive. Be strong learn from regrets and keep your heart open to what can be.
Oh, Serenity Woods, I just love your romance stories! I read them non-stop until I finish them and then reread. I love your romantic twists and turns, especially in Bride in Secret. Please don’t stop writing!! I will be rereading this one!
Liked the story of Roberta and Angus. Some unexpected twists, but still very feasible plot. This story follows the stories of siblings and their quest to find love.
I do love stories that 'dont end' but continue with other characters in the book. This was especially fun.
