Reuting's book is a decent introduction to starting and operating an LLC. After reading it, expect that you will either have to 1) hire professionals to help plan your LLC, or 2) do a bunch of online research to supplement the book. This isn't really a criticism of the book itself... I just think it's important to set reader expectations. This book will give you a starting point; you WILL have to do more work to establish your LLC.It's hard for a book to stay on top of all of the state laws and regulations. Like a lot of books, it proposes to fill the gap with online content. Practically speaking, this isn't a practical alternative unless the book is a huge best seller... an author just can't justify the time to keep all that information up to date. In this case, there are a several online articles, and coverage of a few states in the key topic areas.LLCs for Dummies would benefit from more detailed coverage of operating agreements, worksheets to help readers actually plan and run their LLC, and (especially) references to external business resources that will be kept up to date for key topics. (examples include the SBA and IRS at the federal level)
Limited Liability Companies For Dummies, like most of the "Dummies" books, quickly gets down to business and succinctly covers all the basic terms and issues involving forming your own LLC. I found it to be very helpful in understanding the subject of LLC formation. The book promotes MyLLC.Com as a LLC formation service, with discount coupon code. There are a lot of on-line formation services out there but I went ahead and used MyLLC and had a very good experience. If you're setting up a one person LLC or simple service company this book will probably be all you need to get going. If your company plans involve many partners, silent partners, or large amounts of capital then it might be best to consult an attorney. But the book is still worth reading before beginning the process to get you up to speed on topics, issues and terms. For me it was all I needed to form my own LLC. RECOMMENDED.
As far as I can tell the "special online section for Dummies readers" and offers of help throughout the book are a scam. The stuff listed for state specific content and other things listed there just don't seem to be available and when I requested it of the company associated with it I didn't even get a reply. Oh well, the book itself has been very helpful in gaining an understanding of how to create and feed an LLC and that's the point. Everything listed as available for Dummies readers is pretty readily available online from other sources so it's not a major problem. I'd probably recommend this book to a friend if they were starting an LLC.
A major positive aspect of this book is the infectious enthusiasm of the author for her area of expertise. The reason I returned the book is that the Online Resource Center, mentioned profusely throughout the book, promises to provide essential state-specific information, but none of the links work. The author mentions these resources on almost every page, stating that she keeps the resources updated, so they are a big deal and presented as an integral part of the material. I purchased a "New" latest, 3rd edition of this book for full price, and would have only expected this problem had it been an earlier, used edition from a third-party seller.
Covered many basics of LLCs but IMHO, Ms. Reuting's ploy of "Setting up the booby trap" on page 281 is off the mark. She believes that a creditor that receives a charging order from an LLC will have to pay income tax on undistributed profits of the LLCs. She forgets that a charging order is only a lien on the LLC's distributions. (This is the same story told by investment marketers.) A creditor does not pay taxes on the repayment of debt. The debtor will have the tax liability on his LLC share of profits. Page 281 needs to be revised. That is my two cents.
I bought this book along with several others to educate myself on LLCs. In combination with other material it is a well written simple compliment that explains in easily understood terms the benefits of the LLC. I found the chapter on state laws to be especially intriguing. I also discovered that I can file the LLC in a state other than where I live for more benefits and then register to transact business in my home state.Big plus is an optional service the author offers for consultation, etc.
Best book I've ever read...for someone starting a new business with no experience or knowledge regarding such, this book was a huge help! The author is awesome, very intelligent, experienced, funny, and speaks to me on my level. Offers links to gather additional info when necessary, suggests outside sources for more info, and consultations with other professionals ect. if needed. I have a very good basic understanding of how to start the business I've dreamed of and feel confident going forward in doing such, plus I know where to look to get additional support and info. Awesome book.
Really annoyed that the online content and state specific info promised and referred to constantly in the book doesn’t work.

This book is incredibly verbose. I read over 100 pages and still felt like I was reading a very long winded forward. There is essentially zero "meat" to this book. I was hoping this book would be a concise explanation of the strategic and cultural reasons we lost the war. Instead I got a book that talks and talks and talks without imparting any knowledge. I prefer "A cultural and political history of afghanistan" by barfield.

Book is relatively short, and it won’t take much of your time – but it does offer decent content from which you can learn basics, and start to learn more about market.This book is good for beginners to start with, because it does offer content that it’s important. There’s also links to various different sites where you can keep track on news related to countries and their economies in which currencies you are interested in trading.Author has stated, and I agree, this book is not sufficient to go into market and start trading; but it’s a good book to start with. Like I’ve already mentioned, this is the first book that talks about what it’s important about trading, and not only focusing on chart analysis. Not that the analysis is not important, later on author is talking about TA as a method on when you should enter the trade, and in which direction.Trading method presented in this book it’s oriented more towards Swing Trading, rather than Day Trading. And seems like, of course in my opinion, that this method it’s much better that Day Trading; because day trading it’s not something easy to do, and especially it’s not something good for beginner traders.
Although useful, it has only very basic information.If you are just starting, from zero, to lear fundamentals, maybe this is a good place to start.But the biggest problem I have with the book is the broken promise of having many examples and much more. There is only one trade example and nothing more.There is no talk about leading indicators(what indicators you have to look at to be prepared to the big releases), for example, or market correlations.If you want to start fundamental analysis, I urge you to go to Youtube as there are many very good instructionals there.This book is not worth the money.
Is an excellent book for people wanting to know more about the intricacies of FX trading. While 90 % of the books focus more on the technical aspects, Mr. Dave Matias explains how chart movements are affected by fundamentals in an easy to understand writing. This book is a “must have†for people who are serious about trading, wanting to expand their knowledge further on this subject. I find this addition priceless to my trading library. Is definitely one of “the go to†books for trading in the FX market.
I’m most technical trader but I understand that changing market conditions is what dictate moves in the market. The author did a great job and combining fundamental and technical aspects together to give you a good strategy and mindset on how to view fundamental market conditions. I think most people make the mistake of trading the direct fundamental news releases and get burned by volatility. The author really opened my mind on fundamentals and explains the psychology behind it. Great read and the fact that he uses supply and demand zones confirms that he knows what he’s doing because my mentor trades that way and is extremely profitable. I look forward to reading more of this authors work.
Fundamentals in forex markets can be a confusing topic and something I purposely avoided for years choosing to instead focus on technical and volume analysis. However neither of these made me a successful trader. I'm sure some can become successful with price action alone but because my mind needs to know why the market is moving I wasn't able to even after many years of trying. It's still too soon to tell but I believe that armed with knowledge of the macro and micro fundamentals I will finally turn the corner thanks Dave!!
This is a great introductory book about the forex trading based on the fundamental analysis. It is good for both people who don’t have any macroeconomic background and for those (like myself) who are familiar with all the concepts that the author presents, but would like to understand better how those concepts could serve as the base for trading decisions. The author gives good advice on how to set up trades and is not too shy to suggest some technical tools to assist the fundamental analysis based decision. The book is quite concise and should be considered a starting point, not an all-encompassing guide.
I have been studying forex for awhile now and find this book to be an excellent introduction into fundamental analysis!!! definite recommendation on this and i emailed the author with questions and he responded very promptly so ya dont just get a book you get a personal touch to the experience
This book contains an excellent explanation on the concepts of fundamental forex trading. I loved how it touches on the basics of fundamental analysis and then dives into the details of how to use and interpret reports, which was actally very helpful to me. Good read, good flow, i find this book informative and very useful.

I have not tested this extensively, but the Chinese translations that you are supposed to show to anyone who doesn't speak English for directions only seem to make matters worse.For instance, Luen Wo market is translated on page 154 as the name of a walled village which is in a completely different part of town. Just imagine the frustration.Or, try and order a turnip cake at a dim-sum restaurant using the table at page 204 and you'll get chicken feet. If you want to order chicken feet of course you end up with stuffed beancurd, but the good news is that if you order stuffed beancurd you reverse the spell and get your chicken feet back.I have another minor gripe about the unjustifiable scarcity and lack of details of maps in this kind of guides, which makes this particular book not a very useful one for hiking (an activity that you are likely to engage in if you are staying more than 2 days in Hong Kong and like me you hate shopping) or even for walking around the city for that matter, for instance the pretty spectacular Bowen Road walk, or the even more obvious Victoria Peak walks. Unless of course you integrate with better maps, that are *freely available* on the Internet.I think it's high time that Rough Guide and its main competitor Lonely Planet start publishing some decent maps with their guide books, instead of wasting countless paragraphs trying to explain what can be visually obvious in an accurate map.Other than that, the book mainly delivered and it was a pleasant enough read, so 3 stars seem appropriate.
I recommend this guide, it was quite useful.The descriptions of various areas were quite accurate, and the maps were mostly very good. The one of Macau seemed to have some minor errors, but that place is very confusing to walk around, so it could have been me. Anyway, you want the maps in this book or something pretty good, because the free tourist map is basically worthless.I really like Rough Guides, because their reviews are very honest and balanced, and they are excellent about cross-referencing recommended locations, restaurants, hotels, etc and maps in each book. This guide is up to the same high standards, so it was very easy to use.I would recommend that the walking tours guide (available for free at the airport, etc) is a good supplement to this guide. I used it extensively.
I didn't use a guide much while I was there but when I did, I found my Frommer's guide to be much more interesting, attractive and well structured.I never use a guide to find restaurants, hotels or any of the major tourist attractions, as I can do all of that on my own. But I count on my guides to lead me to interesting things that I would never see if I didn't have one - the out of the way spots. This book definitely didn't help me with that and most of the things that it includes I could have figured out for myself in about the first 20 minutes of arriving in my hotel.The Frommer's guide on the other hand inspired me to venture into the unknown and see some really wonderful things that I wouldn't have otherwise. But that's just me and other people obviously like this book, so it probably just boils down to personal preference, just like most things!
Have visited Hong Kong 4 times in late 60s and early 70s. Just wantedto see what it is like now. Well written book that gives me a review of how much it has changed.
For first timer to HK or even second, etc... if you haven't been back for a while, you will need this.
Great walking tours are included in this Rough Guide to Hong Kong and Macau-the directions are explicit and easy to follow and the places to which we ventured exceeded expectations. There were GREAT shopping tips for a shopping mecca and we scored on several fronts! This is a great way to introduce yourself to Hong Kong and Macau before you get there and a great way to bring what you read into reality. A must-buy for travel to Asia.
This book gives ou a nice overview of the region, and incredible specific tips for visiting HK and Macau.
