I’ve had chronic pain in my feet for over a year, and have read a lot of books and articles to try to figure out what’s wrong and how to fix it. Much of the information dealt with inflammation so I’m familiar with what that can do to our bodies. Jenny’s book consolidates a lot of the information I had already come across, and it’s a great summarized version. She also has some info that I hadn’t seen before. What’s great about this book is that Jenny gives concrete examples of what you can do and more importantly WHY they work. Over the last week I’ve tried to implement the water regimen, swapped out some of the ingredients she recommends, and cut down on sugar -- and have seen some improvement. Once I get more consistent with the changes I think it will really help.The BEST part of the book though is the recipes! Knowing I’d have to cut down sugar, I went straight for the dessert section. The Lemon Bars are incredibly lemon-y and the bar base can easily be used for other bar-type cookies. The Almond Butter Chocolate Bars are my absolute favorite – almost too sweet even without any added sugar. I can’t wait to try out the rest of the recipes!!

I'm currently trying to increase my water consumption markedly as that is one area I am extremely non-compliant in, and I am not going to lie - I haven't reached the 128 ounces recommended - but I'm continually referring back to the first part of her book for encouragement and as a reminder to be gentle with myself during these transitions.So far our family has enjoyed the classic granola bars, protein fruit gummies, and my favorite has been the creamy avocado potato salad, which was a success at a recent potluck.
